Carol Piggott  COPD Yoga tutor

Dave LipkaI became interested in Yoga in the early 1970’s following the birth of my son. I found that the practices helped me overcome the fatigue and anxieties which can accompany childbirth.  Over the following years, attending regular classes, I gained insight and knowledge of the various traditions, and witnessed the positive effects Yoga could have on, not only general health and well being, but specific conditions/disabilities.

From 1999, on moving to Sheffield, I attended classes at the Sheffield Yoga School (now The Sheffield Satyananda Yoga School) held by Hannah Penn and Chris Noon. I found these classes particularly inspiring and decided to further develop my interest in Yoga.

I completed a one year Foundation Course, and a three year Teaching Diploma course ,  both with The British Wheel of Yoga . The main tutor for these was Gillian Gee. In 2009 I also completed a one year Yoga for Pregnancy module with Wendy Teasdill.

Throughout this period I was able to attend workshops and training sessions with Nationally and Internationally known Teachers dealing with integrating Yoga into everyday life, and specifically targeting Yoga practices on mobility and pulmonary issues and stress.

More recently I met Graham Storey and became aware of his classes aimed at improving the quality of life for people with COPD. Illustrating once again the positive effect of Yoga in a wide range of situations.

I am currently teaching one of these classes in Sheffield, in addition to my regular General Yoga Classes in Rotherham.

I also hold. Pregnancy Yoga classes and Mother and Baby Yoga classes
